Our BIG trip to Utah-Part 1

So after getting home very late from Les Mis on Friday night- we headed out bright and early Saturday morning to make the drive to Utah for our vacation. I am very thankful for a few things that made our drive soooo much easier than it could have been. Number one would have to be our van. I don't know how we drove long distances with 3 kids before we had the van. It was so nice to space the kids apart and not have the constant "he's touching me" dialog the whole time. I was told by my doctor to stop every couple of hours and get out and walk around to avoid blood clots- but I just couldn't bring myself to add any more time onto our already long trip. So instead I tried to recline my seat and strech out as much as possible as we drove. We pulled into my parent's drive way in just under eleven hours with only two stops along the way. Pretty impressive for having 3 kids and one very pregnant mama. We potty-trained Brinlee a couple of months ago and figured we would just put her in a diaper for the trip. Well she has taken quite well to the potty training and refused to go in the diaper. This meant she cried for a good long time until we reached a bathroom- but hey atleast we know she won't be regressing anytime soon- atleast we hope! The first item on our list was to get some of that good old Utah fry sauce from Arctic Circle. My mom thought we were crazy for wanting burgers and fries after being in the car all day- but you just can't beat that fry sauce. We then hit the hay to prepare for another big drive the next morning. On Sunday we headed up to North Ogden for church and to see Brad's brother Matt and his wife Sierra bless their new baby Beckett. It was so fun to be there for a baby blessing in the family. Since moving to AZ we have missed out on 3 nephews and 2 nieces blessings. Sadie asked to hold Beckett and then didn't want to give him back. I am really hoping this bodes well for Cole's arrival and that she will want to hold him all the time as well. After a yummy luncheon at Matt and Sierra's we headed back toward my parent's house with a quick stop at Temple Square in Salt Lake. I have always wanted to take the kids to see the temple where Brad and I were married and to see the big Christus statue. Nana and Grandpa met up with his as we toured our way around the grounds. We snapped a pic of the kids at the little fountain spot where Brad proposed those oh so many years ago. We then headed back home for some yummy dinner and then off to bed for everyone. I checked on Sadie about an hour after I had tucked her in only to find her still awake. She said she was too excited for her birthday the next day and couldn't fall asleep. After one more kiss before she turned 7- she was able to fall asleep.

What cute kidlets! I love the pics of them on temple square. Also the one of Sadie holding her baby cousin Beckett. I DEFINITELY think she will be a great helper with baby Cole. Thanks for making the sacrifice to come here guys! We had so much fun and made so many happy memories.
love,

Only 2 stops on an 11 hour drive with three kids and a preggo!? I think your next vacation destination should be England. They even have bathrooms on airplanes so brinlee would do great!
