Bishop Dad and Other Happenings

I have had some serious blog neglect due to our crazy busy schedule lately. I have thought about updating the blog but those thoughts have not resulted in any action until now. I am very behind and have lots to update and pictures to add probably at a later date. So three weeks or so ago we got word that my parent's ward in Utah was splitting and that my dad had been called as the bishop of the new ward. We were all very excited and proud of him and I really wanted to be able to be there to support him. My sister already had tickets to go out to Virginia to find some place to live(she will be moving there in Septemeber) so she was not able to go to Utah for my dad's special day so I decided I would go to represent my siblings. I booked a ticket to fly out for the weekend and decided since I am Brinlee's primary food source that I would take her along with me. Brad's mom was already scheduled for a visit over that weekend so she was able to help Brad wrangle the two that I left behind. It was so nice to go to Utah and experience the cooler weather- the yummy restaurants that I miss- and be able to show support for my mom and dad in this new journey of theirs. Brinlee was lost without her siblings. She looked around for them constantly and was so happy to see them at the airport when we got back home. The day after I got back- my mom flew in from Utah for a previously planned visit. We had a great week with her school shopping for Sadie. We bought all her supplies and her school uniforms. She is the cutest little school girl I have ever seen. She is now off naps which has been a bit of an adjustment- but hopefully in the next two weeks before school starts we will continue to see improvement. Brad and I had a long awaited date night out to the theater on Friday night to see Wicked. We bought the tickets a long time ago in honor of my upcoming birthday. It was better than I had even anticipated and now I am listening to the soundtrack constantly and singing along. I think it might be my new favorite show. We snuck in one more date before my mom went home yesterday and went to see Night and the Museum 2. It got us both laughing pretty hard. We are now back to regular life which involves Brad starting back up with school tomorrow. It has been nice to have him around but I will just have to keep telling myself that we have less than a year to go and we will make it through. I think that is the update for now. I will get pictures up soon of all of our adventures. Sadie starts school in two weeks- I am gearing up and will probably have much to post about this new chapter in our lives.

OH, how fun to get to vacay to Utah! I can't believe Sadie will be in school. I was so sad at first but now that he loves it, it makes it better. She'll probably be the top of her class the little smartie! Good luck!
