I'm Going There Some Day

For family night this week, we decided to take a little drive out to the Gilbert Temple that is being built. We weren't sure how close we would be able to get, but figured it would be worth the drive to see the progress. We got a nice surprise when we pulled in and found out that there is acutally a little visitor's center set up in a construction trailer right next to the temple. We had a really sweet missionary tell us all about the Gilbert Temple and then at the end the kids got a special treat. One of the walls of the temple had been damaged so they took those pieces of rock and put them in a little bucket in the visitor's center and the kids were each able to pick a rock out to take home with them. The missionary explained to them that when they will now have a piece of the temple in there own room and when they look at it they can remember that they love to see the temple. Before the words even got out of her mouth, Brinlee responded, "I'm going there some day." It was pretty cute. We were able to get a family pic in front of the temple and took the kids pictures holding there rocks as well. It was such a great experience to see a temple being built and for the kids to be able to bring home a piece of it as well. We can't wait to go back in a few months for the open house!
